The Creative Ideas That Brought These Content Creators Fame

We’ve seen countless creative content styles propel hundreds of creators to success. From MrBeast’s bold stunts to Taooma’s comedic skits, dance challenges, travel vlogs, lifestyle, fashion, and beauty content — there’s a winning formula for everyone.

However, some creators seem to have achieved fame with minimal effort. While fewer in number, their simple, effortless approach is worth paying attention to because how do they do it?

Creativity is just as important as valuable content as a creator. There are many ways to do achieve success as a content creator these 4 creators have proven that. Let's explore how they did it

1. Diary of a Naija Girl (DANG)

Back in the day, Instagram was a NEW hot thing and Nigerians were just embracing social media as a way of sharing and connecting. DANG was one of the first Instagram channels in Nigeria to post the type of stories that she posted. It seemed easy. She just wrote stories and posted or screenshot the stories others sent to her and posted. She didn’t spend hours designing or curating, it was just all about stories - people’s stories

But it was so fascinating that her page started growing fast - and she didn’t even need to show her face.

While everyone was posting pictures on Instagram, Ife posted stories and this became the creative idea that brought her fame as a content creator

Lesson: Content doesn't always require elaborate production. Raw, relatable stories can be incredibly powerful.

2. Evan Smith

This is a 19-year-old with over 200,000 TikTok followers, making tens of thousands of dollars and even has a partnership with Adobe.

Guess what he does? He rates Instagram pages and offers advice.

His videos are not even flashy, they are quite ordinary but while so many social media gurus charge to audit an Instagram page, Evan started doing it for free. The thousands of dollars he makes monthly is proof that this has paid off very well.

Many creators are afraid to start because it seems like the market is too saturated but then someone like Evan shows up, does something different, and rises to the A-list creator club. This is proof that there’s always room for you if you can differentiate yourself well

Lesson: Identify your unique knowledge or skillset and leverage it to create value for your audience. Don't be afraid to start small and build from there.

3. Jenny Hoyos

She is called “the girl that hacked shorts” and it is well deserved. This content creator is making a fortune from YouTube shorts - we all know that you have to do millions of views steadily to make an income with shorts and that’s precisely what she does.

Her videos always get millions of views, many of them over 10 million views and she does not even do too much.

She has said that “the secret to my viral videos is a good hook” Somehow Jenny can tell a complete story in 60 seconds, add a great hook to it, pace it well, and deliver it flawlessly.

She uses her bubbly personality to her advantage and enjoys making videos - so it always looks seamless.

While everyone is obsessed with longer videos to increase watch time and get paid from ads, Jenny has used shorts to build a business and a career as a content creator. Different for sure but a good bet!

Lesson: Don’t be afraid to go where others are not. Sometimes, it’s a better option for you.

4. Aproko Doctor

If you don’t know Aproko doctor, he is famous for being Nigeria’s online doctor - using short simple videos and memes to educate his audience about their health.

His style of creating content is one we do not see very often. He uses his actual work and expertise to create content and build an online community. The only other creators that do this are in HR or Marketing.

He already has the knowledge, so he just shares it with his audience and he has built a strong career as a creator from doing this.

So many beginner content creators have full-time jobs so I often wonder why this style of content creation is not explored enough.

Lesson: Share your knowledge with the world. Your expertise can be a powerful tool for building an audience and making a difference.

While the content these 4 creators share may appear to create simple and straightforward content, the secret lies in the execution. They understand their audience, show up regularly, and deliver flawlessly.

What you can learn as a beginner content creator

  • Don’t overthink everything. Just write or talk about the things you want to share

  • Don’t underestimate your experience. Evan Smith is just 19 years old so he does not have 5 years of experience as a social media manager but hundreds of people are paying him now to audit their Instagram pages. If he sat around thinking “I need to build experience first” or “No one will care” we would not know him

  • Experiment and iterate: Don't be afraid to try new things and adjust your approach based on feedback.
